What Are Essential Oils?

What's all the buzz you have been hearing about oils? By now you’ve probably heard your friend or neighbor talking about essential oils. Perhaps you read in a magazine that so-and-so celebrity uses oils. They probably have been popping up in your Instagram. They’re kind of everywhere. So, what exactly ARE they?

CURIOUS? SCROLL ON!

Essential Oils Are The Lifeblood of a Plant!

They’re the life blood of a plant, and when these plants are grown in the right conditions, harvested at the correct time, and distilled with the utmost care (you can read more about Young Living's Seed to Seal process here) they can aid in keeping our bodies healthy, well, and happy - which is how our bodies were intended to be. These highly aromatic oils derived from plants can be pulled from any botanical matter and are typically extracted from flower petals, citrus peels, grasses, tree barks, and resins. The oils are extracted through a variety of methods, including cold pressing and steam distillation.

How Our Bodies Proccess Oils

Oils consist of over 100 different natural, tiny organic compounds. These molecules are so small that they can pass through our tissues and directly into our cells. Our systems are super effective and can transport these molecules all over our bodies within a matter of minutes.  These compounds/molecules are so small that they can pass through our tissues and directly into our cells. Our systems are super effective and can transport these molecules all over our bodies within a matter of minutes. They provide support for every system in the body: skeletal, muscular, circulatory, endocrine, hormones, respiratory, and immune systems.

Not All Oils Are Created Equal

Not all oils are safe to use in the ways Young Living essential oils are. Those oils you see at the health store cannot be ingested the way Young Living oils can. One thing that is mind blowing is how easy it is for other essential oil brands to have misleading “100% pure” labels yet contain synthetic oils and additives. This is pretty crazy if you ask me! Young Living is the ONLY company I have found that grows it’s own plants from start to finish, and owns their own farms, with the strictest standards around.

The Three Ways to use oils

topically

Applying topically is one of the most popular uses. Some require a carrier oil like fractioned coconut oil (Always check for Dilution instructions). You can make rollerball combos, creams, sprays, and just about anything!

aromatically

You can either inhale the oils directly from the bottle or you can diffuse them (you get a diffuser in your Starter Kit) which is great for making your house smell great, helping your babies or kids relax at night, support the best sleep, getting rid of unwanted odors in the house and so much more.

internally

Because of Young Living’s therapeutic grade of oils, there are many oils that can be taken internally as a dietary supplement. The Vitality line is clearly labeled for this use. You can add oils to your water (Lemon Vitality is my favorite for this!), or you can even cook with them.

THE KIND OF RESULTS YOU CAN EXPECT:

Support for your sleep..

Support for your skin..

Support for our hormones...

Support for every system in our bodies...
