This post comes after a couple of years of using and being involved with Young Living as a brand partner so I’ve had plenty of time to form my own opinion of them as a brand and a company. So why Young Living? Why not any of the other big essential oil brands out there? Listen up friends! In the whole world of essential oils, I have noticed that most that are on the market are only suitable for the cosmetic and perfume industry.
I am way more interested in my essential oils to be quality and I want them to be able to DO ALL THE THINGS for my overall wellness. I want them to work on my body, mind, and spirit. Essential oils smelling food is a very happy side effect to me. Make sense?
Reasons Why Young Living Is The Best In The Business
Their Commitment
Young Living has an unmatched commitment to producing a pure, unadultered essential oil. They have a devotion to creating a highly therapeutic product. They have invested in their own farms, caring for and nurturing their own plants, trees, and shrubs. Finally, they distill, test and bottle all of the oils that arrive on your doorstep.
They Own Their Own Farms
So many from our own team have seen this first hand in Mona, Utah, and St. Maries Idaho Young Living farms. I plan to visit the Mona YTrah lavender farm next year for the first time. Some people from our upline team have visited the Northern Lights farm in Canada, the Ecuador farm, and the Hawaii farm. There is a distillery in Spain and Italy.
ANYONE…seriously anyone can go visit a Young Living Farm. DO IT. It will open your eyes and blow your mind.
No other essential oil company owns farms or distilleries. NONE.
The Seed To Seal Process
Young Living Seed to Seal Process is an unmatched process and commitment to these standards. It is unmatched. Every step from planting to bottling is detailed and controlled. We have seen it first hand and so can you.
If at any point in the production process does not meet other standards they do not use it. They start again. Because of this, one side effect is that Young Living oils go out of stock…but taking a step back I’m ok with this because I can wait for the best product to be produced.
They are not cranking out oils quickly in a lab to make more money, but instead, they are waiting for the plants to grow (Absolutely No synthetics) and waiting until the batch is absolutely perfect. They accept nothing less.
More Expensive
So why is Young Living So expensive? Often times it is, and you definitely get what you pay for here. It has never been more true. Young Living is more expensive than other brands and oils you can find at Whole Foods, Target, or on Amazon because of its therapeutic grade.
Essential oils are a hot topic right now and it is more common than ever to hear people talking about them, selling them, and seeing them as you are walking down the aisles of your favorite store. Most of these oils are cheap imitations, purchased in large quantities, diluted with synthetic additives, and rebottled before being sold to you. This is not okay for me and my family. I want the best for my kids and myself and this is an area/product I don’t want to save money on short term only to spend more long term because I used something that didn’t do what it was supposed to or worst case harm us.
Some companies may claim that their oils are organic. Beware if you see this. Unfortunately, the term “organic” is not regulated by the FDA in regards to essential oils. They do not certify or grade essential oils so any oil you see making those claims is simply using the word. They simply do not earn it, IMO!
Final Thoughts
In conclusion, if you cannot walk onto your oil company’s farms and watch them distill their oils at their very own distilleries, then don’t use it. There is a reason Young Living is the world leader, and has been for almost 30 years!
